WELDER-FITTER

​

$18.00-30.00/hour (To be negotiated)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.

  • Layout, fit, and weld fabricated components to assemble structural bridge parts, according to blueprints and knowledge of welding and metallurgy.

  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry.

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FCAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), and submerged arc welding (SAW).

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment.

  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines.

  • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers.

  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.

  • Weld, tack, or bolt sections together.

  • Construct patterns and templates.

  • Keep accurate records as required by company procedures

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Able to understand instructions and carry out the tasks as required by supervision.

  • Able to keep work area clean.

  • Describe activities performed daily and account for them in the current time keeping system.

  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding equipment.

  • Other duties as necessary from time to time.

WELDER

​

$16.00-25.00/hour (To be negotiated)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.

  • Layout reference points and patterns.

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FCAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), and submerged arc welding (SAW).

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment.

  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines.

  • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers.

  • Set up and operate welding machines to fabricate and repair metal parts.

  • Keep accurate records as required by company procedures.

GENERAL LABOURER

​

$16.00-20.00/hour (To be negitiated)

  • Ability to lift 50lbs

  • Describe activities performed daily and account for them in the current timekeeping system

  • Able to understand instructions and carry out tasks as required by supervision

  • May assist with minor repairs and maintenance

  • Grind using hand tools

  • Load and unload vehicles using hand truck or dolly

  • Clean work areas and equipment as instructed

  • Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials

  • Transport raw materials and finished metals products manually or using hoists or other devices

  • Assist welders and fitters, machine operators or other metal workers

  • Operate metal cleaning equipment such as wheelabrators and shotblasters to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other metal product

  • Keep accurate records as required by company procedures.

CNC OPERATOR

​

$20.00-30.00/hour (To be negotiated)

  • Central Welding & Iron Works has invested heavily in a new Messer CNC Plasma/Oxy Fuel/Drilling table. This equipment is the latest technology and we require a permanent, full time operator. Successful applicants must have 5 years experience operating a CNC cutting table and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment
